MCTELL BROTHERS<\/p>\n
The McTell Brothers have already played with and opened for some of the country’s top songwriters and guitarists from Nashville, Austin,\u00a0New York and beyond, artists such as: Elizabeth Cook, Eric Brace & Peter Cooper, The Black Lillies, The Spring Standards, Eric Taylor, Emily Wells, Nicole Atkins, Frank Solivan and Dirty Kitchen, Joy Kills Sorrow, among others. They’ve performed at some of the top festivals and venues in the mid-Atlantic.<\/p>\n
The McTell Brothers recently released their self-titled, debut EP. Produced by Grammy-nominated Jen Gunderman (whose night job is performing in Sheryl Crow’s touring band), and recorded in\u00a0Nashville, the EP features\u00a0Gunderman on keys, Bones Hillman (of Midnight Oil) on bass, and Paul\u00a0Griffith (who tours with Todd Snider and a host of other Nashville\u00a0musicians) on drums and percussion. The 5 song EP features the\u00a0brothers’ well-rounded musical taste as well as their accomplished\u00a0guitar playing and vocal harmonies.<\/p>\n
Fraternal twins Brian and Jeff began taking guitar lessons at the age\u00a0of 7. By 9 years of age, they were already performing at coffeehouses\u00a0in their home state of Virginia.<\/p>\n
Now 18 years old, they perform a mix of Americana, Folk, Rock and\u00a0Blues, including some of their own original material. Formerly\u00a0performing as the J & B Blues Project, their current name is a homage\u00a0to legendary bluesman Blind Willie McTell, as well as the Bob Dylan song of the same name.<\/p>\n
